The Epynt Way is a way marked circular permissive bridleway following within the boundary of the MOD's busy Sennybridge Army Training Area, a total distance of about 90 km. It is entirely within the dry training area, so that although noisy troop training may be encountered, there is no danger from live ammunition. It is normally open continuously.
The path is being opened in 9 phases, all with stunning views, over varied mountain terrain. Each stage consists of about 10 km between major access points from public roads. Numerous public paths are also linked to the Epynt Way, offering opportunities for circular excursions.
The northern section consisting of a mixture of boggy moor-land and forest tracks, offers gradually unfolding views of the surrounding mountain ranges. To the south there is a series of seven steep river valleys to negotiate with good views across the training area.
